$46,000 bid for Bremer the brahman

A brahman bull has sold for $46,000 at an annual on property sale in north Queensland.

The PB Fenech brahman sale at Sarina attracted local, interstate and overseas buyers with 90 lots sold for a total of $591,500.

Brigid Fenech says although the average price was down on last year the top price paid for Bremer Manso was an outstanding result.

"It's one of the highest prices of the season in all breeds so we're very very pleased with that," she said.  more...

5 Star tops $12,000

PUREBRED Senepol bulls sold to $12,000 while composite progeny hit $9500 at the annual 5 Star Senepol Sale, Gracemere on Monday.

Vendors, the Maynard family, 5 Star Stud, Jambin witnessed a complete clearance to buyers from two states with 41 Senepols setting an overall average of $6097, four Senepol/Charbray composites averaging $3875 and 26 Senelais (Senepol/Charolais) bulls selling to $9500 to set a $3923 medium.

At the end of the sale six purebred females averaged $2333.

Sale topper was the 28-month, 852kg, 5 Star Broham fetching $12,000. The son of 5 Star Longfellow with an EMA measurement of 133 cm sq and fat depth scans of 8/7mm sold to Peter Clonan and family, Cobrabald River Pastoral Company, Mullengah, Gulargambone, NSW. more...
