Droughtmaster Stud Sires

The Droughtmaster combines the best characteristics of both the British (Bos taurus) and Tropical Bos indicus breeds to produce high quality beef economically. Pinnacle Pocket runs a fertile herd of 70 Registered Droughtmaster breeders based on Wallace Vale, Billabong, Vale View, Kanbrae, Mooma Park and Leverdale bloodlines.

Sired by Mooma Park Andre, Butthead is a highly virile and potent sire with a large scrotal size of 44cm, bestowing fertility into his progeny. As a medium framed bull, he display's good muscularity, a tidy sheath, good length, exceptional hip to pin and a terrific butt profile which is so important in our industry for retail beef yield.
He was Crowned Grand Champion bull of all breeds and Supreme champion all breeds at the 2010 Cairns show. He was a 35 month old bull at the time, weighing 914 kilos. Butthead had previously also won major ribbons at Atherton and Malanda shows and several ribbons at the Cairns, Malanda, Atherton and Tully shows in 2009.

Used as our main sire until 2010. We have retained a large number of his daughters in herd. Ripley is a Wingfield Boris line sire and is a natural, easy doing beef producer with good length and strong muscling.

A High EBV bull, his Group Breedplan figures (+15 for 600 Day Wt.) are backed up by his high weight for age (859Kg at 23mths, EMA 117sqcm). He was judged second Placegetter in a very large and very strong 17-19 month bull class of 22 bulls at the Droughtmaster feature show at Rockhampton in June 2008.
Ripley has 2 stars for Marbling, 2 for Tenderness and 7 stars for Feed Efficiency. We have retained his son, Pinnacle Pocket Dalton, who was Junior Champion Tropical Breed bull at the 2011 Cairns show, for use in herd. Dalton is a naturally-doing, flat-backed, strongly polled bull with a terrific rump.
