Our Senegus cattle are a cross between Senepol and either an Ultrablack bull, Barronessa Francis (see breeding and EBVs below) or Brangus cows. They are known for their exceptional qualities and offer graziers a low-maintenance, heat-tolerant breed with strong maternal traits. They are bred to produce cattle with the heat and parasite tolerance of the Senepol, combined with the superior fertility, growth, and carcass attributes of the Angus in the Brangus and Ultrablack cattle.
These cattle are quiet, fertile, have strong maternal traits, and are now in herds across the Gulf. They have increased the fertility in many herds with higher conception rates and weaning percentages. Carcase data from Senegus steers is outstanding, making them a valuable addition to northern commercial operations.
